Electricians are responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues and repairing devices. Mainly residential applications along with maintenance on many apartment buildings and government facilities.

Responsibilities

- Test electrical system equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Repair malfunctions in electrical system.
- Replace or fix parts in electrical system.
- Have good knowledge of electrical codes.
- Wiring of new homes and renovations.
- Hold an Ontario drivers licence.
- Good communication skills and working with others.
- Jobs are organized via cell phone app with calendar scheduling.
- On Call on rotating schedule.

Role Description The Licensed Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based in Guelph/Kitchener/Cambridge/Elora/Fergus and surrounding areas. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, fixtures,



and equipment in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting electrical issues, and completing corrective repairs.

The electrician will conduct routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and document work performed. The role also requires collaborating with team members, communicating clearly with clients, and ensuring that all work areas are kept safe, organized, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.

- Record findings, parts used, repairs completed, and any recommended follow-up work
- Take clear photos of electrical issues, panels, devices, wiring areas, and completed work
- Report unsafe conditions, unfinished work, or jobs outside your approved scope
- Use a mobile work app to receive work orders, read instructions, navigate with GPS, upload photos, and update job statuses
- Must hold valid electrical trade status that can be verified
- Must be able to complete assigned electrical work independently without supervision
- Work involving panels, service upgrades, EV chargers, generators, major rewiring, aluminum wiring, knob-and-tube wiring
- Must have your own suitable smartphone, mobile work apps, taking clear photos, reading work orders, and submitting job updates

Qualifications





- Strong foundation in electricity and practical electrical work, with proven experience in residential, commercial environments.
- Skills in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting to diagnose issues, perform corrective actions, and support preventative maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles as they apply to system design, installation, and safe operation.
- Valid electrician license/certification in Ontario and thorough understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices, including use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard recognition.
- Ability to read drawings, schematics, and technical documentation, and to complete accurate work orders and reports.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, working at heights, and in varying environmental conditions.
- Valid driver’s license
- Background check required as we work in sensitive and unique situations occasionally.
