Accessibility Services Test Centre is hiring Invigilators for twenty (20) hours per week.
Responsibilities The Accessibility Services Test Centre Invigilator is responsible for supervising examinations in a manner that upholds the highest standards of academic integrity while ensuring an inclusive, supportive environment for students with disabilities. This role focuses on providing a distraction-free setting that allows each student to perform to the best of their abilities. Invigilators act as the primary point of contact during evaluations, managing everything from secure material handling to basic technical troubleshooting.
- Uphold the integrity of all evaluations by actively and fairly monitoring students, while respecting the terms of their academic accommodation plan.
- Manage and secure confidential examination materials, including distributing and accurately collecting accommodated materials (e.g., alternate formats, scrap paper, scantrons).
- Implement a full range of approved accommodations precisely, which may include setting up specialized testing environments (e.g., quiet rooms), managing extended time, or facilitating assistive technology and scribing services.
- Maintain a barrier-free testing environment by performing basic technical troubleshooting on specialized software or online platforms, escalating complex issues immediately to minimize disruption for students.
- Explain evaluation rules and regulations to students before the start of each session and answer procedural questions in a calm, professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree or college diploma would be considered a strong asset.
- At least 1 year of experience in a customer service environment is required.
- Basic computer literacy, including email and navigation of online platforms (e.g., Google Suites, ZOOM).
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality are essential for maintaining the exam schedule.
- A high level of accuracy and the ability to follow complex instructions precisely.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality and apply critical thinking to evaluate situations objectively.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the exam schedule.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is considered an asset.
- Mental Health First Aid and or de-escalation training is considered an asset.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a valid Social Insurance Number.
- Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is an asset.
