Your Opportunity:
Working within the Recovery Supports Day Program, you will play a key role in connecting individuals living with mental health and addiction concerns to meaningful recovery-oriented services and supports. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapist, Recreation Therapist, Therapy Assistants, Social Workers, and other healthcare professionals, you will help create a welcoming, inclusive, and recovery-focused environment that promotes wellness, community participation, skill development, and social connection. A focus of this position is client engagement. You will establish supportive relationships with clients, identify and address barriers to participation, encourage involvement in programming, and assist individuals in pursuing their recovery and wellness goals. Through regular contact, observation, and collaborative problem-solving, you will help clients build confidence, strengthen community connections, and maintain meaningful engagement in services. In this agile role, you will facilitate and co-facilitate recovery-focused groups, social programs, and community-based activities while adapting your approach to meet diverse client needs and abilities. You will promote client independence, recognize client strengths, support skill development, and contribute to creating opportunities for successful participation in both program and community activities. The Recovery Support Worker contributes to the planning, preparation, and implementation of group programming,
providing feedback regarding client engagement, participation, and program effectiveness. You will participate in client reviews and interdisciplinary discussions, accurately document, and communicate observations, progress, and concerns.
Description:
As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.

Required Qualifications: Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications: Demonstrated experience facilitating structured group programming and contributing observations regarding client engagement, participation, and progress within an interdisciplinary care environment.
Experience supporting the implementation of recovery-focused interventions and strategies developed in collaboration with therapists and other healthcare professionals. Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and addiction concerns in a community, rehabilitation, recovery-oriented, or psychosocial program setting. Demonstrated ability to build rapport, foster client engagement, and support recovery-oriented goals.
Experience working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency with electronic documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience facilitating psychoeducational, recreational, life skills, health promotion, or recovery-focused groups. Knowledge of recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and person-centered approaches. Experience working with individuals experiencing concurrent disorders, severe and persistent mental illness, or complex psychosocial needs.
