Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Initiatives, the Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating regional Addictions Medicine Physician contracts alongside medical & academic affairs, coordinating and supporting the addictions medicine physician network, and coordinated support of several AM/AMCS teams regionally in alignment with Island Health priorities. The Coordinator works alongside the BC Centre on Substance Use's (BCCSU) and is responsible for regional physician engagement opportunities related to addictions medicine and substance use care.
The Coordinator works directly with Island Health's Medical Director, Addiction Medicine programs and services,
Island Health regional substance use program and geographic leadership, Divisions of Family Practice and other relevant partner organizations as required.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Health Services, Health Promotion, Health Information Management, Business or Public Administration or related field. A minimum of five (5) years' of experience working in a health care or health/medical education workplace. Knowledge of social determinants of health and commitment to addressing the needs of people who are marginalized and face barriers in accessing care. Working knowledge of addiction medicine and experience working with physicians.
Valid BC Driver's license.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Experience in or ability to quickly learn computer programs/interfaces is an asset.
- Project management experience or education.
- Knowledge of online survey tools.
- Ability to be self-directed and work independently.
