Profile Description: Provides coordination and administrative services for a department(s) and/or program(s).
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Provides coordination and administrative services for a department(s) and/or program(s). This position typically reports to a Provincial Leader, Site Manager or Program Manager but may provide administrative support to physicians and other health professionals as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Grade 12
- Office Education/Secretarial certificate plus completion of a Medical Terminology course (OR) Medical Office Assistant certificate
Experience:
- One (1) year previous experience in an office environment.
Skills:
- Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications.
- Some Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a limited number of alternatives.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in various stages of completion according to priorities.
- Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.
- Robust organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Creative ability in developing layouts for reports, presentations, information bulletins, etc.
- Ability to work independently.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to operate all types of office equipment.
- Ability to conduct literature searches for specified information.
