House, MNLC offers specialized support to survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence, helping them heal, thrive, and develop a sense of belonging.

Role Description The Admission Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in North York, ON. This role is responsible for managing the admissions process for MNLC programs, including responding to inquiries, guiding prospective participants through eligibility and intake requirements, and maintaining accurate records.

The Admission

Officer conducts initial assessments, schedules interviews or information sessions, and collaborates with program staff to place participants in appropriate services. Day-to-day tasks include handling phone and email communications, updating databases, preparing admission-related documentation, and providing clear, respectful information to newcomers and community partners. The role also involves supporting outreach activities, ensuring a welcoming intake experience,



and contributing to continuous improvement of admissions procedures.

Qualifications

- Solid administrative and organizational skills, including experience with data entry, file management, and maintaining accurate records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with diverse communities and individuals.
- Customer service or client-facing experience, ideally within social services, education, or settlement sectors.
- Proficiency with office software and digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, email platforms, client management or CRM systems).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Knowledge of newcomer settlement issues, community resources, and trauma-informed or survivor-centered approaches is an asset.
- Fluency in English; additional languages commonly spoken by newcomers in the community are considered an advantage.
- Post-secondary education in social work, social services, community work, administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of admissions and client service.
