After-Hours Pager Service Coordinator (Remote / Work from Home)

Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual to join our office team remotely as part of our after-hours coverage service. This is a contract position ideal for someone who works well independently while remaining a strong team player.
A background in healthcare or homecare is considered a strong asset, with preference given to candidates with experience as a Nurse, Health Care Aide, or in healthcare scheduling and coordination.
Strong English communication and comprehension skills, professionalism on the phone, and comfort using scheduling software are essential.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and coordinate shift coverage during:
- Weekdays from 4:30 PM to 8:30 AM
- All weekends and statutory holidays
- Take over the phone line promptly at 4:30 PM and hand it back at 8:30 AM
- Use a landline and/or cellphone with call display, call waiting, and voicemail to ensure no calls are missed
- Access fax and/or email to receive daily notes, calendars, and updates from the office
- Read and confirm receipt of pager notes sent by 4:00 PM each day
- Remain flexible, as occasional early start or later finish times may be required
- Confirm staff availability and adjust staffing as needed
- Replace staff who call in sick for scheduled facility shifts
- Refer all new client inquiries to your direct supervisor for approval
- Escalate any major concerns regarding private clients to your supervisor
- Attend weekly team meetings, as required
- Use cloud-based scheduling software to manage staffing, communication, and scheduling updates
Qualifications
- Excellent English speaking, comprehension, and communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Technical proficiency and confidence using scheduling software and digital communication tools
- Familiarity with healthcare and/or homecare environments is an asset
- Nursing, Health Care Aide, or related healthcare experience is preferred
- Must be dependable, responsive, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented attitude with a professional and compassionate approach
Compensation
- Contract position
- Approximately 31 hours per week
- Weekly lump-sum salary arrangement
- Compensation equivalent to approximately $17–$19 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Pay: $527.00-$589.00 per week
