After School Care Leader Sept 2026-June2027

Are you a high-energy "kid person" with a knack for turning a rainy afternoon into a creative masterpiece? We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Out of School Care Leader to join our team and provide a protected, engaging, and fun environment for school-aged children.

The Role

As part of our after-school team, you’ll be more than just a supervisor—you’ll be a mentor and a facilitator of fun. Your goal is to ensure every child transitions smoothly from the classroom to a relaxed, supportive afternoon environment. We follow the Delta School District calendar and are closed on holidays and non instructional days, great if you have children of your own that attend a Delta School!

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 2:45 PM – 5:45 PM (occasional early dismissal days for parent teacher conferences) Location: Sandpiper after school care in Beach Grove Elementary, Tsawwasen BC

Key Responsibilities

- Supervision: Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for children aged 5–12.
- Creative Programming: Design and lead daily activities, including arts and crafts, projects, and group games.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all safety protocols are followed and provide basic first aid if necessary.
- Communication: Greet parents during pick-up and provide brief, positive updates on their child’s day.

Qualifications & Requirements We are looking for someone who balances professionalism with a playful spirit. To be considered,



you must possess:

- Childcare Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years working with school-aged children in a group setting (camps, daycare, or coaching).
- Certified Training: Completion of the Responsible Adult Course or currently enrolled in/completed an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program and have your Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate.
- First Aid: Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR Level B (or higher).
- The "Creative Spark": A genuine love for being hands-on—whether you’re an artist, a storyteller, or a DIY expert.
- Reliable Transportation to Tsawwassen

- Adaptability: You can pivot a planned outdoor game to an indoor activity in seconds when the weather changes.
- Patience: You understand that after-school energy can be high and know how to de-escalate with kindness.
