AI Engineer

Build AI-native internal applications for Dataeko—from a lightweight CRM and HRMS to adjacent operational tools—then progressively contribute the same disciplined approach to client-facing AI-native solutions.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and ship internal applications (CRM, HRMS, and related tools) end to end using AI-native development platforms
- Contribute to AI-native solutions built for Dataeko's clients as the product and delivery capability grows
- Make clear, defensible build-vs-buy calls on when to extend Dataeko's own stack versus integrate a third-party tool
- Design for operational resilience with graceful failure handling, role-based access, data integrity, and audit trails
- Use AI coding tools such as Replit, Emergent, Claude, and ChatGPT-class copilots as genuine force multipliers while owning everything that ships
- Maintain lightweight technical documentation and handoff practices so systems do not become single-person dependencies




- Work directly with the leadership team to translate operational and business priorities into shipped software through fast, low-ceremony feedback loops

Required

- 1–3 years of experience building and shipping applications end to end, solo or in small teams; a portfolio or demonstrable work is essential
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted or AI-native development tools (such as Replit, Emergent, Cursor, Lovable, Bolt, or Claude Code) to build real products
- Comfort owning the full stack: frontend, backend, data modelling, access control, and deployment
- Judgement to prioritise scoped, working software over sprawling, half-built platforms
- Strong ownership instincts and comfort being accountable for a system's reliability

Good to have
- Experience building internal tools for recruitment, HR operations, finance/procurement, or CRM-type systems
- Exposure to client-facing delivery or building products for external customers
- Experience in a lean or startup setting with multiple areas of responsibility
