Child Care Aide
Ensure that meals/snacks are ready to serve in a timely fashion and that they comply with legislated standards with regards to expiry, storage and temperature Adhere to the children's unique dietary needs while arranging alternatives for children with allergies and/or dietary restrictions Ensure the kitchen area and utensils are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with Health Department requirements, Health & Safety Standards and Food Handling Standards Assist in the supervision of children, when necessary Contribute to the general maintenance of the Child Care Centre through ordering,
stocking and rotating of supplies and canned foods to prevent spoiling and expiration Food Handler's Certification or be willing to certify upon hire A valid/current Standard First Aid Certification and Infant and Child CPR Certification Experience working with pre-school children, toddlers, and school age children Prior experience in food service/handling Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, Child and Family Services Act, WHMIS, health and nutrition guidelines and Health Protection and Promotion Act as well as applicable Regional policies and procedures skills in adapting language and tone for inclusivity and clarity This position is with Salary Grade 1 and will be paid at the following hourly rates: All applicants are expected to comply with the Region of Durham's Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct Policies throughout the recruitment process.
