Aircraft Paint Prep Assistant

VIH Aerospace (VIHA), a global leader in Helicopter Manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MMRO) is looking to expand our Paint Department by hiring an Aircraft Paint Prep Assistant.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

VIHA is looking for a team-focused person to join our Paint/Refinishing Department. Reporting to the Paint Shop Supervisor, the ideal candidate will gain exposure to a variety of paint prepping methods.

This is a full-time position based at the VIH Aerospace facility in Sidney, BC, Canada.

Relocation services are not included in this opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Reports to the Paint Shop Supervisor to assess current needs of the day and determine which project(s) and location(s) require attention.
- Preparation of aircraft components, parts, and panels.
- Parts degreasing, and sanding.
- Works with scrapers, solvents, sandpaper, and other refinishing products.
- Use appropriate paint preparation techniques and other related skills to complete the assigned tasks.

REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:





- Hardworking and passionate about your chosen career path.
- Good communication skills, able to take direction well, work independently and with a team.
- Previous experience working in the automotive or aviation industry would be considered an asset but not necessary for this position.

- Compensation for this position will fall between $20.00 to $25.00/hour depending on experience and education.
