Amazon's WW Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. We are looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals who want to join our team as an Area Manager II in Nisku, AB.

In this role, you will lead a team of hourly workforce and will be responsible for engaging your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will also play a key role in maintaining our customer expectations to ensure customer orders are delivered at the right time, to the right location.

A Day in the Life

As an Area Manager II at an Amazon fulfillment center, you'll act as a strategic leader overseeing up to 80 associates while driving department level operational improvements. You'll conduct planning sessions with your team, coaching them through operational challenges while developing their leadership capabilities. On a typical day, you'll partner cross-functionally with teams such as Quality, HR, and Safety to implement scalable process improvements that could impact 200+ associates across multiple workflows.

Key Responsibilities

- Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
- Collaborate with all support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives
- Diagnose root causes of performance gaps using advanced analytics
- Facilitate alignment meetings with senior leadership on department-level goals




- Make data-driven decisions that balance competing priorities
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
- Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loudWork in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
- Experience in the management of large teams (50+ members)
- Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field
- Experience in shipping/logistics distribution centers, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, retail, or customer-service environments

Advantages

Amazon offers a base salary of $75,000-$105,000 CAD annually. The package may also include sign-on payments and RSUs. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D;), RRSP, DPSP, paid time off, and additional well-being resources.
