Shift Vacancies: Day Shift Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday with additional Overtime.
Summary of Position:
The Assembly Technician - Level 3 independently executes complex mechanical assembly, torque verification, and system testing to meet defined specifications and quality requirements. The role maintains compliance with safety and quality procedures, documents production activities, troubleshoots non‑conformances, and actively supports shop‑floor continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
Key Tasks
- Assist the Shop Supervisor in affecting a higher level of productivity and efficiency towards meeting required deadlines.
- Assist the Shop Supervisor in maintaining and facilitating a high standard of quality with zero escapes.
- Advocate by example Norquest's goal of continual improvement and procedural integrity.
Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising a team of junior technicians, providing guidance and training as needed to ensure high-quality work.
- Reading and interpreting highly complex assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and work orders,
and assist the supervisor developing assembly procedures as needed.
- Collaborating with engineers, other team members, and supervisor to identify and implement process improvements.
- Inspecting and testing finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the assembly process.
- Ensure that Trace sheets, Checklists, and Routings are signed accurately.
- Technical reading: Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and basic schematics.
- Tool & measurement proficiency: Skilled with hand tools, power tools, torque tools, pressure testing units, and measuring equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Able to identify fit/function issues, perform rework, and troubleshoot mechanical
- Safety & compliance: Strong adherence to safety procedures, PPE, and safe lifting/handling practices.
- Communication & teamwork: Explicit verbal/written communication; ability to collaborate with production, quality, and engineering.
Physical requirements: Able to stand for extended periods; lift/move up to 50 lb as needed; perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
Qualifications
- 3-5 Yrs in a similar position.
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Oilfield experience an asset.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Mechanically inclined and willing to learn.
- Warehouse experience an asset.
- Effective team work skills.
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Pay: $26.00-$31.00 per hour
