The Opportunity The Ottawa office of Dentons Canada LLP is seeking a talented and entrepreneurial associate with 2 to 3 years of experience, preferably transactional, to join its market-leading Corporate group.
Our Ottawa office is at the forefront of Dentons' Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies practice in Canada, working with innovative technology companies and investors across global markets. Our VentureTech team advises start-ups and high-growth businesses throughout their lifecycle, from formation and early-stage financing through venture capital investments, commercial partnerships, intellectual property strategy, international expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and public offerings.

Your Role
Dentons’ Ottawa office is seeking an associate (2 to 3 year call) with strong academic credentials and preferred transactional experience to join our highly regarded Corporate team.
The person hired for this position will be part of a dedicated team and will support the practice by assuming such responsibilities as:
- Advising technology companies and venture capital investors on general corporate matters, early stage financings and mergers and acquisitions;
- Structuring, negotiating, and drafting a variety of financing related agreements, including subscription agreements, purchase agreements, shareholder agreements and limited partnership agreements;
- Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of standard-form agreements, legal precedents, and internal processes; and
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through responsive, practical, and business-oriented legal advice.

The expected salary range for this role is $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 (depending on year of call and experience). At Dentons we are committed to offering equitable and competitive pay.
