Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and delivery schedules to ensure transparency and accountability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate pickup and delivery times
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance or report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure optimal performance
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and automotive repair procedures
Skills
- Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for minor troubleshooting and maintenance
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, operate heavy machinery, and perform vehicle inspections as required
