We are currently seeking Bartenders to join our team.
Role Responsibilities
Are you comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where speed, accuracy, and guest service matter equally?
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing efficient and professional beverage service while contributing to the safe and effective operation of the bar. This position is best suited to individuals who can remain composed under pressure, work effectively as part of a team, and maintain high standards throughout busy late-night service.
Experience working in a high-volume nightclub, bar, restaurant, or hospitality environment is considered an asset; however, we are also open to candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability, work ethic, and ability to learn.
The successful candidate will work closely with fellow bartenders, bar support staff, servers, supervisors, security personnel, and management to provide timely service and maintain an organized and professional bar environment.
This role is responsible for:
- Providing prompt, courteous, and professional beverage service to guests.
- Preparing and serving beer, wine, spirits, highballs, shots, and other beverages accurately and efficiently.
- Managing multiple guest orders simultaneously during periods of high volume.
- Processing cash, credit, debit, and point-of-sale transactions accurately.
- Maintaining awareness of guest intoxication levels and following responsible alcohol service requirements.
- Verifying identification and complying with all applicable liquor service policies and regulations.
- Maintaining a clean, stocked, and organized bar throughout the shift.
- Communicating product, inventory, or operational concerns to supervisors and management.
- Working collaboratively with barbacks and other team members to maintain efficient service.
- Following established opening, operating, and closing procedures.
- Maintaining appropriate controls regarding cash, product, glassware, and inventory.
- Supporting venue safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures.
- Responding professionally to guest questions, concerns, and service issues.
- Maintaining composure, professionalism, and attention to detail during peak service periods.
- Supporting management and other operational areas when required.
Key Responsibilities and Performance Expectations High-Volume Service:
Provides fast and accurate beverage service while maintaining quality and professionalism during periods of significant guest volume.
Guest Experience
Creates a welcoming and professional interaction with guests while balancing service expectations with the demands of a high-volume nightlife environment.
Responsible Service
Maintains awareness of responsible alcohol service obligations and follows venue procedures related to identification, intoxication, guest safety, and liquor regulations.
Teamwork and Communication
Works cooperatively with bartenders, barbacks, servers, security, supervisors, and management. Communicates clearly and responds appropriately to changing operational needs.
Cash and Transaction Accuracy
Processes transactions accurately and follows company procedures related to cash handling, point-of-sale systems, payment processing, and financial accountability.
Bar Readiness and Organization
Maintains appropriate stock levels, cleanliness, organization,
and workstation readiness throughout the shift.
Qualifications
Previous bartending experience is considered an asset, particularly within a high-volume nightclub, bar, restaurant, event, or hospitality environment.
Candidates without significant bartending experience may also be considered where they demonstrate strong customer service skills, reliability, professionalism, and the ability to learn and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants must meet all legal requirements to serve alcohol in Alberta, including holding or obtaining a ProServe.
Preference Will Be Given to Candidates With:
- Previous high-volume bartending experience.
- Experience working in a nightclub, entertainment venue, busy bar, or similar environment.
- Strong point-of-sale and cash-handling experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high number of guest transactions efficiently.
- Experience working collaboratively with barbacks, servers, security teams, and management.
- Strong situational awareness and sound judgment in a nightlife environment.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices.
- A history of reliable attendance and consistent workplace performance.
- Strong interpersonal and guest-service skills.
- The ability to learn quickly, accept coaching, and apply feedback.
Availability Nightlife operations require flexibility. Successful candidates must be available to work evening and late-night shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, weekends, statutory holidays, and special events as required.
Shift schedules and hours may vary based on venue operations, event schedules, and business levels.
