Richmond

Behaviour Interventionist - In-Home | Greater Vancouver

Starting at $25/hour | Independent Contractor | Immediate opportunity

In-home/community based | Paid travel/mileage | Paid approved indirect clinical time The Opportunity

Aria Integrated Care is growing our behaviour support team and is looking for an experienced Behaviour Interventionist (BI) who enjoys working with children in a natural, play-based and family-centred way.

We have an immediate opportunity to begin with a family in Richmond, with additional opportunities expected across Richmond, Surrey, Langley and other Greater Vancouver communities as our behaviour services grow.

This role is intentionally starting small - approximately 2+ direct client hours per week - making it a strong fit for an experienced BI who already has other commitments or an existing caseload and would like to gradually add well-supported clients. For the right person, the caseload may grow toward approximately 20-25 hours per week over time, depending on client demand, availability and fit.

About Aria Integrated Care

Aria Integrated Care is a growing multidisciplinary practice supporting children and families across Greater Vancouver. Our team includes speech-language pathology and behaviour support professionals who value team-oriented, individualized and family-centred care.

Our approach is engaging and functional. We aim to build skills through play, movement, communication, everyday routines and activities that are meaningful to each child - rather than relying on overly rigid or table-based intervention.

What You'll Do

- Implement individualized behaviour-support programs under the direction of a Behaviour Consultant/BCBA.
- Provide engaging, play-based and naturalistic intervention in children's homes and community environments.
- Support communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, independence, play and daily living skills.
- Respond calmly and safely to challenging behaviour using strategies outlined in each child's program.
- Build positive,

trusting relationships with children and families.
- Collect relevant session data and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Behaviour Consultant.
- Complete session notes and documentation within scheduled session time.
- Collaborate with families and other members of the child's care team when appropriate.

What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of direct experience working as a Behaviour Interventionist or in a closely related behaviour-support role.
- Experience supporting children with autism and/or other developmental differences.
- Comfortable using play-based, naturalistic and child-centred approaches.
- Comfortable working independently in family homes with children and youth approximately 2-14 years of age.
- Reliable, professional and consistent with scheduled families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
- Willing and able to travel for in-home sessions throughout Greater Vancouver.
- Eligible to work in Canada and able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Additional Assets
- Completed or ongoing post-secondary education is preferred, particularly in psychology, behavioural science, education, child development, child and youth care, social sciences or a related field.
- Additional training in behaviour intervention, autism support, naturalistic developmental behavioural approaches or play-based intervention.
- Experience collaborating with BCBAs, Behaviour Consultants, SLPs, OTs or other allied health professionals.
- Ability to speak an additional language. Punjabi,

Hindi, Mandarin, Farsi and other languages commonly spoken by Greater Vancouver families are especially welcome.

Schedule, Compensation & Growth The position begins as an independent contractor role with a flexible part-time caseload. We are currently hiring someone who can begin as soon as possible, particularly for an existing Richmond family.
- Direct client hours start at $25/hour, with compensation based on experience and qualifications.
- Approved travel or mileage is compensated.
- Approved indirect clinical time is paid.
- Clinical direction and supervision are provided by Aria's Behaviour Consultant/BCBA.
- The role may grow from approximately 2+ hours per week toward 20-25 hours per week or a larger caseload over time, depending on referrals, client demand, availability and mutual fit.
- As Aria's behaviour services continue to grow, there may also be future opportunities for a larger regular role or employee position for an excellent long-term fit.

Why Join Aria?
- Start with a manageable caseload and grow gradually.
- Receive clinical support from an established Behaviour Consultant/BCBA.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team rather than in isolation.
- Use play-based, functional and individualized approaches with children and families.
- Build your role alongside a growing behaviour program across Greater Vancouver.

How to Apply If this sounds like a good fit, we'd love to hear from you. Please email your resume and a brief introduction outlining your BI/behaviour-support experience, current availability, the Greater Vancouver communities you are comfortable travelling to, and your preferred number of hours per week.
