Arkel Chamber Concerts is a Toronto-based chamber music series presenting three intimate, high-caliber concerts each season. Founded by violinist Marie Bérard and cellist Winona Zelenka, Arkel has evolved from Trio Arkel into a energetic concert series recognized for imaginative, carefully curated programs. The organization showcases a wide range of repertoire, from classical and romantic works to contemporary compositions, reflecting the breadth of chamber music.

Arkel regularly collaborates with acclaimed guest artists from the international classical music community, offering audiences distinctive and memorable concert experiences.

Role Description The Board Member (Volunteer) supports the strategic and operational success of Arkel Chamber Concerts.

Responsibilities include participating in regular board and committee meetings; contributing to governance, policy development, and long-term planning; and helping oversee financial sustainability and risk management.

Members also collaborate on fundraising initiatives,



donor stewardship, sponsorship outreach, and community engagement to strengthen the organization's visibility and support base, and serve as ambassadors for Arkel within the local arts community and beyond.

Who We're Looking For

You're someone who cares about the arts and wants to put your professional skills to work for a cause you believe in. We're especially hoping to connect with candidates who bring a strong finance background, as this will help strengthen the organization's governance and long-term sustainability. Experience in fundraising, marketing, governance, or community engagement is a bonus.

Commitment

This is a volunteer position. Board members are asked to attend regular Board meetings throughout the year, along with Arkel's three annual concerts where possible. We welcome the time and energy you're able to bring to help Arkel thrive.
