SUMU is a modern Asian dining destination in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, bringing together the bold flavors of Nabe and the craftsmanship of Japanese cuisine. Our concept features premium sushi, yakitori, Japanese small plates, signature nabe, and handcrafted beverages, creating a unique dining experience unlike any other in the city.

We’re growing our Back of House team and looking for hardworking, reliable, and passionate people to join our kitchen!

DISHWASHER

Keep our kitchen running smoothly by maintaining clean dishes, equipment, and work areas throughout service.

KITCHEN HELPER

Support the kitchen team with food preparation, organization, cleaning, and daily kitchen operations.

LINE COOK

Prepare and execute dishes with speed, consistency, and attention to quality in a fast paced kitchen environment.

SUSHI CHEF

Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other Japanese dishes with strong knife skills, precision, consistency, and attention to presentation.

YAKITORI CHEF





Prepare and grill yakitori with proper technique, timing, consistency, and a strong understanding of charcoal grilling.

SOUS CHEF

Support kitchen leadership, oversee daily service and preparation, maintain food quality and consistency, and help train and develop the BOH team.
