Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bodyshop Technician role located in Canada at Image Auto Collision within Image Honda.
The Bodyshop
Technician will perform collision repair work, including structural and non-structural repairs, panel replacement, dent removal, and alignment of body components. Daily tasks include assessing vehicle damage, disassembling and reassembling components, preparing surfaces for refinishing, and working closely with painters and estimators to ensure quality and efficiency. The role involves using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and measuring systems to restore vehicles to manufacturer standards, while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. The technician will also document work performed,
maintain a clean and organized workspace, and contribute to a positive customer experience by helping deliver secure, reliable repairs.
Qualifications
- Strong automotive body repair skills, including panel straightening, dent repair, structural and non-structural repairs, and parts replacement.
- Proficiency with bodyshop tools and equipment such as welders, sanders, pullers, measuring systems, and hand tools, with a focus on safety.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders, estimates, and manufacturer specifications, and follow standardized repair procedures.
- Attention to detail in fit and finish, alignment, and quality control to ensure vehicles meet manufacturer and safety standards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with painters, estimators, service staff, and management.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple repairs, meet deadlines, and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Relevant technical training or certification in automotive body repair or collision repair; apprenticeship or trade qualification is an asset.
- Experience in a collision repair or bodyshop environment, ideally within a dealership or certified network, is preferred.
- Commitment to workplace safety, adherence to local regulations, and willingness to participate in ongoing training.
