- Perform full-cycle accounting and maintain up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online
- Complete monthly bank and account reconciliations, including accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll
- Customer billing
- Prepare all necessary filings for federal and provincial taxes, including GST, PST, and payroll remittances
- Create and manage Excel spreadsheets
- Coordinate and assist with year-end financial preparation for external accountants
Tasks
- General Ledger Maintenance: Record all financial transactions in the company’s general ledger, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Create vendor invoices and employee expenses, as well as manage customer payments. Invoice for Labor.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with the company’s records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Payroll Support: Assist with processing asmall payroll, including verifying hours worked, deductions, and employee benefits.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
- Data Entry:
Accurately enter financial data into accounting software, maintaining consistency and correctness. Oversee junior bookkeeping staff for acurate input of information.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in a construction or project-based industry
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Excel, and other common accounting tools
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with solid time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
