Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive tutoring plans tailored to students’ individual needs and learning styles
- Facilitate engaging review sessions on neuroscience topics, including brain anatomy, functions, and related scientific concepts
- Assist students in practicing problem-solving strategies and answering sample competition questions
- Provide transparent explanations of complex scientific ideas using age-appropriate language and visual aids
- Support students in developing effective study techniques and time management skills for the competition
- Monitor student progress regularly, offering constructive feedback to boost confidence and understanding
- Maintain organized records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and preparation materials
Skills
- Experience working with children or young learners in educational or tutoring settings
- Strong background in science subjects such as biology, psychology, or neuroscience; familiarity with math is a plus
- Proven teaching or tutoring experience, especially in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly
- Proficiency with computer skills including presentation software and online learning tools
- Classroom experience or background in special education is advantageous for accommodating diverse learning needs
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals can enhance the tutoring approach and resource development
