Building Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance of our residential apartment buildings in Vernon, BC.

This position is ideal for someone with practical maintenance and handyman experience who is comfortable troubleshooting problems, completing repairs independently, and working in occupied residential properties.

Responsibilities:

- Complete general repairs and preventive maintenance in apartments and common areas
- Perform minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains and leaks
- Complete drywall repairs, patching, painting and touch-ups
- Perform basic carpentry, trim, doors, locks and hardware repairs
- Troubleshoot and complete minor electrical repairs within the scope of the position
- Assist with appliance troubleshooting, repair and replacement
- Prepare and repair rental units between tenancies
- Identify maintenance issues and determine when specialized contractors are required
- Respond professionally to maintenance requests from tenants
- Maintain tools, materials and work areas in a safe and organized manner
- Assist with exterior and seasonal property maintenance when required

What we are looking for:





- At least 2 years of building maintenance, property maintenance, renovation or handyman experience
- Strong practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple maintenance requests
- Experience with plumbing, drywall, painting and general repairs
- Basic carpentry and electrical knowledge
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Reliable, qualified and respectful when working in tenants’ homes
- Able to perform the physical requirements of the position
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Position details:

- Full-time, permanent
- $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Based in Vernon, BC
- Work primarily involves residential apartment buildings

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
