We are looking for a health data professional with financial reporting experience in hospital or community care sectors to join our team and contribute to advancing access to trusted health data.
About the job In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of financial and statistical data standards to support evidence-based decision-making across the health system, with a focus on hospital and community sector settings. You will collaborate with key stakeholders, provide expert policy advice, and guide the strategic use of financial data to enhance program and service delivery.
In this role, you will:
Lead and provide expertise on the development, maintenance and enhancement of financial and statistical data standards and the submission of financial data to the Ministry.
Build and maintain business partnerships with key health system stakeholders and lead stakeholder consultations to ensure alignment between program requirements and Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards.
Conduct the research, development and evaluation of strategic financial and fiscal policies, best practices and performance standards to support complex program and service delivery priorities.
Provide financial reporting advice on the collection, reporting and use of financial data to Ministry and sector stakeholders.
Provide financial policy expertise and advice, prepare a variety of correspondence and deliver presentations to senior management.
What you bring to the team Health Data and Information Management You have knowledge of:
financial and statistical standards (e.g.
Ontario Health Financial Reporting
Standards, CIHI's Management Information System Standards) and financial reporting practices (e.g.
Ontario Healthcare Financial
System, SRI etc) within the Ontario health system.
fiscal policy and procedures,
Ontario accounting guidelines to support health programs knowledge of health care reporting standards and requirements (i.e. funding, case mix and case weight methodologies and Health Service Provider performance agreements and financial reporting requirements to the Ministry
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills You have:
the ability to assess the impacts of change to the health system and fiscal plans, and make recommendations based on financial and accounting best practices.
the ability to gain knowledge of government directions, priorities and legislative process to ensure policies are developed within the context of the government's health agenda.
Project Management You have
project experience to lead, plan and conduct research, analysis and evaluation projects and balance competing priorities to ensure deliverables are met within set timelines.
the ability to provide leadership and guidance to program areas, project teams and external stakeholders.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills You can:
prepare and develop reports and recommendations, briefing and issues management material, reports, plans and correspondence.
build and foster productive cross-sector relationships with senior management, stakeholders and clients.
develop and present education and learning materials to support the submission of high quality, trusted data
