C++ Software Engineer | Low Latency Trading | $200k-$300k | Montreal

We're partnering with a leading global quantitative trading firm that's looking for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join a team responsible for building and enhancing the technology that connects trading systems to exchanges and brokers around the world.

This is a hands-on role developing business-critical, low-latency software that sits at the heart of a high-performance trading environment.

The Opportunity

You'll take ownership of designing, building and optimising order gateway technology, working closely with traders, engineers and stakeholders to deliver resilient, high-performance systems. Alongside hands-on development, you'll have the opportunity to mentor engineers, influence architecture and grow into technical leadership.

What You'll Be Doing

- Designing and developing high-performance C++ applications
- Building and optimising low-latency order gateway solutions
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions
- Driving software quality through testing, code reviews and engineering best practices
- Contributing to architecture and technical design discussions




- Supporting production systems and continuously improving reliability and performance
- Mentoring engineers and sharing technical knowledge across the team

What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience with modern C++
- Excellent knowledge of Linux development
- Solid understanding of data structures, networking and software design
- Commercial Python experience
- Experience building high-performance, mission-critical systems
- Passion for solving complex technical challenges
- Low-latency systems experience
- Exchange connectivity or trading systems knowledge
- Financial markets experience (Equities, Futures, Options or other asset classes)
- Experience working within globally distributed engineering teams
