Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group swimming sessions for dogs, ensuring each dog’s safety and comfort throughout the process
- Develop customized hydrotherapy programs to support rehabilitation, mobility, or general fitness goals for canine clients
- Monitor dog behavior and physical responses during water activities, adjusting techniques as needed to promote confidence and safety
- Maintain a clean and organized pool area, adhering to hygiene standards and safety protocols at all times
- Educate pet owners on the benefits of canine hydrotherapy and provide guidance on at-home exercises when appropriate
- Record session details, progress notes,
and any observations related to each dog’s health and behavior
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals or pet owners to tailor therapy plans that meet individual needs
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching or training animals, especially dogs, with a focus on positive reinforcement techniques
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate water safety practices confidently
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct pet owners and collaborate with team members
- Knowledge of canine anatomy, behavior, and hydrotherapy principles is preferred but not mandatory—training will be provided
- Ability to remain energetic, patient, and attentive in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining a lively and motivating attitude
