Reports to: Director of Workforce Development

Position Description

This full time, hourly, benefited position supports job training students and community members in achieving employment and career goals. This role provides individualized career coaching, job readiness training, resume and interview support, and job search assistance.

The Career

Navigator collaborates closely with training instructors, employers, and community partners to connect participants with meaningful employment opportunities. While the position primarily serves students enrolled in Catholic Charities job training programs, it also extends services to members of the public seeking career guidance.

The Workforce Development program empowers clients to achieve financial independence and thriving households by offering on-site job training, job readiness education, and career guidance that foster upward economic mobility.

Ministerial

- As a ministerial representative of CCEOK, maintain professional and personal conduct that aligns with the ethical and moral standards of the Catholic Church
- Pray daily for the needs of the poor through personal prayer, daily Mass, and/or adoration
- Be willing to learn and apply Catholic teaching in this role
- Help foster a shared culture of ministry across program operations and management

Career Navigation

- Conduct intake interviews and assessments to identify client strengths, goals, and barriers
- Develop individualized career plans with clients
- Guide clients through resume development, interview preparation, job search strategies,



and application processes
- Connect clients to supportive services (transportation, childcare, housing, etc.) in collaboration with other CCEOK programs, including case management
- Maintain consistent communication with job training students, meeting regularly to monitor progress and address challenges
- Facilitate life skills workshops and job readiness training as needed

Volunteer Engagement

- Recruit, engage, and support volunteers who provide mentoring, mock interviews, and career readiness assistance
- Train volunteers to align their service with program goals and CCEOK’s mission
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and match them with student and client needs
- Recognize and value volunteer contributions, ensuring they have meaningful experiences

Budget Management/Fund Sourcing

- Track and manage resources for job search and training-related materials
- Provide input on program data for grants, funding proposals, and donor updates

Client/Guest Interaction

- Serve as a professional and supportive resource for students and community members
- Maintain confidentiality, dignity, and respect in all interactions

Community Outreach

- Build and maintain relationships with local employers to create pipelines for student placement
- Collaborate with workforce boards, employment agencies, and other community partners
- Represent the program at job fairs, community events, and networking opportunities

Qualifications/Education

- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in career services, workforce development, case management, or related field
- Strong communication, organizational, and coaching skills
- Familiarity with employment resources, labor market trends, and local employer networks
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals facing barriers to employment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and career services software
- Commitment to working in a mission-driven, faith-based nonprofit environment
