Role Description The Carpenter Assistant role is a full time, on-site position based in Pickering, ON. This role supports lead carpenters with tasks such as measuring, cutting, and assembling materials, and helping with site preparation and cleanup. Day-to-day duties include handling lumber and building materials, operating hand and power tools under guidance, and assisting with framing, installation, and finishing work.

Assistant follows safety procedures, helps maintain organized work areas, and supports the team in meeting project deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Core carpentry skills:



ability to assist with general Carpentry tasks and follow project plans and instructions.
- Tool proficiency: experience using Power Tools and Hand Tools safely and effectively under supervision.
- Structural work: basic understanding of Framing techniques and willingness to learn more advanced methods.
- Deck, shed and fence construction: interest or experience in deck, shed and fence construction.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to perform physical labor in varying weather and site conditions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
- Ability to read basic measurements, use a tape measure, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Previous construction or carpentry experience is an asset; apprenticeship or trade school training is considered an advantage.
