We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team part time. The ideal candidate will have flexible availability, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food and beverage preparation, cash handling, and customer interaction within a vibrant food service setting.
Prior experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The position involves working with POS systems, including square POS, and maintaining food safety standards to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of dirty sodas, coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to company standards
- Operate POS systems such as Square POS for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries promptly
- Handle food preparation tasks including heating up food items and maintaining cleanliness of workstations
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are consistently met in accordance with health regulations
- Manage cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including cleaning equipment,
& counters
- Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies as needed
- Demonstrate effective time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems, especially Square POS, is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
