Cashier / Customer Service Team Member

We’re looking for a friendly, dependable Cashier / Customer Service Team Member to join our team. This role is an important part of the day-to-day flow of our store, helping customers at the checkout, answering questions, supporting fellow staff, and keeping the front area running smoothly.

Whether you have retail experience or are looking to learn, we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to be part of a helpful, hardworking team.

What You’ll Do

As a Cashier / Customer Service Team Member, you will help create a positive shopping experience for every customer. Responsibilities include:

- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Process customer purchases using the point-of-sale system
- Handle cash, debit, credit card, gift card, and in-house charge transactions accurately
- Balance cash and transaction records according to store procedures
- Answer customer questions, confirm pricing, and provide product or store information
- Answer phones and take messages when required
- Assist customers with directions, product inquiries, or general advice
- Call customers when special orders arrive
- Follow store procedures for returns, refunds, and customer concerns
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well stocked
- Help maintain store tidiness and merchandise displays
- Become familiar with store inventory,



promotions, and yard products
- Support a safe, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
- Assist with training new cashiers when needed
- Attend meetings or training sessions as required
- Help with special projects or other duties assigned by management

Qualifications include

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Retail, cashier, customer service, or building supply experience is an asset
- Friendly and helpful attitude toward customers
- Strong communication skills
- Good basic math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to learn about store products and procedures
- Dependable, organized, and able to work with accuracy
- Ability to stand for extended periods during a shift
- Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends
