The Personal Support Worker (PSW) works under the supervision of the R.N. and/or R.P.N. The PSW is responsible for providing basic personal care to the residents with the goal of maintaining/improving the quality of life through physical, emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing. The extent of the involvement in these objectives will be determined by the functional ability of the resident and the directions documented in the interdisciplinary plan of care.

Responsibilities:

- Provides basic personal care (bathing, dressing, eating, turning and repositioning, toileting, oral hygiene, hair care, nail care, grooming, shaving, etc.) as set out in the Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care




- Complete treatments within scope as educated
- Professional Charting and clinical notes, reports i.e WSIB, Health and Accident, CIS, and/or supporting documentation
- Maintains resident’s dignity and confidentiality at all times.
- Works efficiently and safely as a team member and shows good working relations with staff, residents, families and others.

Qualifications:

- Graduate from a recognized College- Personal Support Worker Program
- Recent experience in a Long-Term Care setting preferred
