About the Role:

The Certified Sawfiler plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the performance of saw blades used in various industrial applications, ensuring optimal cutting precision and efficiency. This position involves the expert sharpening, setting, and repairing of saw blades to meet stringent quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and maximize productivity by providing timely and accurate saw maintenance services.





Attention to detail and a deep understanding of saw blade mechanics are essential to prevent equipment failure and extend blade life. Ultimately, the Certified Sawfiler contributes significantly to the operational success and safety of manufacturing or processing facilities by ensuring all saw blades are maintained to the highest standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Red Seal Certification
- Proven experience in saw blade sharpening, setting, and repair in an industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of saw blade types, materials, and maintenance techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications related to saw blades.
- Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in saw maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in a manufacturing or lumber processing facility.
- Additional certifications related to industrial maintenance or machining.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and equipment.
- Basic mechanical or machining skills beyond sawfiler expertise.
- Experience with computerized saw sharpening equipment.

Responsibilities:

- Sharpen, set, and repair saw blades according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Inspect saw blades for wear, damage, and defects, and determine appropriate maintenance or replacement actions.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to schedule saw blade servicing with minimal disruption to operations.




- Maintain accurate records of saw blade maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during all sawfiler activities.

Skills: The required skills enable the Certified Sawfiler to perform precise sharpening and repair work that directly impacts the quality and efficiency of cutting operations. Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail ensure that saw blades are maintained to exact specifications, reducing waste and downtime. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with production teams and documenting maintenance activities clearly.

Preferred skills such as proficiency with computerized equipment and additional mechanical knowledge enhance the ability to work with advanced tools and troubleshoot complex issues. Together, these skills support a safe, efficient, and high-quality saw maintenance process that perks the entire operation.
