Hydron Energy is a Canadian clean technology company developing technologies for renewable natural gas and low-carbon energy applications.

We are looking for a Chemical Manufacturing Technologist to support the production, scale-up, and continuous improvement of chemical and materials manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on, on-site position involving chemical synthesis, purification, process equipment operation, quality control, troubleshooting, and production documentation.

The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering, materials, and operations teams to transition laboratory processes into reliable and repeatable manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities Include

- Performing chemical synthesis and batch manufacturing according to established procedures, batch records, and SOPs
- Operating and monitoring chemical processing equipment used for reaction, mixing, heating, cooling, filtration, separation, washing, drying, and related manufacturing operations
- Performing purification and post-processing steps to achieve required product specifications
- Preparing raw materials, chemical solutions, reagents, and process equipment for production
- Monitoring critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, mixing rate, reaction time, pH, and material quantities
- Supporting scale-up of chemical synthesis and materials manufacturing processes from laboratory to pilot and production scale
- Troubleshooting process deviations, equipment issues, yield losses, and product-quality problems
- Supporting optimization of manufacturing processes to improve yield, consistency, throughput, safety, and cost
- Collecting production samples and performing or coordinating in-process and final quality-control testing
- Maintaining accurate batch records, production logs, material traceability records,



and quality documentation
- Developing and improving manufacturing procedures, work instructions, batch records, and SOPs
- Maintaining clean and organized production areas and ensuring equipment is properly operated and maintained
- Handling chemicals and chemical waste in accordance with SDS requirements, company procedures, and applicable safety regulations
- Supporting equipment commissioning, process validation, and implementation of new manufacturing equipment where required
- Working collaboratively with R&D;, engineering, quality, procurement, and operations teams

Skills & Experience

- Diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering Technology, Chemical Technology, Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering Technology, Process Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing, process manufacturing, pilot-scale production, industrial chemistry, or a related environment
- Practical experience performing chemical reactions or chemical/material synthesis
- Experience with chemical processing operations such as mixing, reaction, filtration, washing, separation, drying, or purification
- Experience operating laboratory, pilot-scale, or industrial chemical processing equipment
- Strong understanding of secure chemical handling, SDS documentation, PPE, and chemical waste management
- Ability to accurately follow SOPs, batch records, formulations, and written manufacturing procedures
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with chemical quantities, process parameters, documentation, and product quality
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities




- Comfortable working hands-on in a production and laboratory environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 20 lbs
- Experience supporting process scale-up from laboratory to pilot or manufacturing scale is strongly preferred
- Experience with quality systems, manufacturing documentation, process control, or continuous improvement is an asset
- Experience with porous materials, adsorbents, advanced materials, specialty chemicals, gas separation, or related technologies is an asset
- Background in cleantech, renewable energy, industrial gases, or chemical process industries is an asset
- Certification as a technologist/technician, such as through ASTTBC, is an asset

Annual Salary CAD $50,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
