Job Title: Childcare Supervisor (Start-Up Leader)
Organization: Redeemer Bible Church / Redeemer Childcare
Location: Niagara Falls, ON
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent (35–40 hours/week, primarily onsite)

About the Role
Redeemer Bible Church needs a Childcare Supervisor who is experienced, motivated, and driven by faith to lead the launch and daily functioning of their new Christian childcare center. As a dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), you will provide leadership, stability, and maturity. You will act as the church’s trusted representative, ensuring that both premium early childhood pedagogy and Christian programming values are seamlessly integrated.
This unique opportunity spans two crucial phases:
● Phase 1 (Pre-Opening): Drive the start-up process by building on existing progress. You'll work with church leaders and outside partners to meet Ministry of Education rules, create compliant spaces, and get licenses.
● Phase 2 (Post-Opening): Transition into full operational leadership, managing daily programming, staff development, financial health, and family relations to foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing Christian environment.
Centre Start-Up & Licensing
● Prepare the facility for Ministry of Education licensing inspections, approvals, and annual renewals.
● Set up classroom environments that strictly meet Ministry standard requirements.
● Coordinate the purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies while meticulously tracking expenditures.
● Build operational systems, record-keeping procedures, staff resources, and manage initial child enrollment tours and files.
Administration & Church Communication
● Ensure total alignment with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Public Health, and legislative mandates.
● Create, implement, and review all internal operational policies and procedures.
● Serve as the primary liaison for provincial and regional government bodies, as well as the Inclusion Resource Service Model (IRSM) to support classrooms.
● Meet regularly with Redeemer Church’s Executive Director and attend Board meetings upon request to align childcare goals with the broader church ministry.
Staff Management
● Lead the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and continuous professional development of childcare staff.
● Manage staff scheduling, performance reviews via HR software, conflict resolution, and organize routine staff meetings.
● Maintain organized, up-to-date staff files (VSC, CPR, immunizations).
Financial Management
● Collaborate with the Executive Director and financial representatives to prepare budgets, quarterly submissions, and fund reconciliations.
● Approve purchases, track spent funds, submit staff timesheets, and manage parent invoicing and annual tax receipts.
Teaching & Program Delivery
● Step into the classroom to teach, care for children, and handle room set-up/take-down whenever necessary.
● Guide curriculum development, ensuring the robust delivery of Ontario’s pedagogical frameworks alongside Christian faith components.
Redeemer Church Communication
● Meet with Executive Director regularly, and if an issue arises
● Attend Board meetings as requested
● Be the contact for any communication between childcare and other church staff
Job Requirements:
Knowledge
● Deep understanding of the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA).
● Comprehensive mastery of Ontario’s pedagogies: "How Does Learning Happen?" and "ELECT".
● Strong grasp of childhood development, emerging ministry trends, and workplace hygiene/hazard practices.
Skills & Abilities
● Exceptional communication, active listening, critical thinking, and time management skills.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office, email systems, and operational internet applications.
● Ability to multitask, maintain high consistency, and accurately recognize developmental or behavioral needs in children.
● Core attributes: Ethical, attentive, compassionate, trustworthy, responsible, and patient.
Qualifications & Special Conditions
● Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience working in a licensed childcare setting.
● Education: Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
● Credentials: Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE).
● Approvals: Must meet Ministry of Education requirements to hold a supervisory role.
● Safety: Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C-AED, plus a clean, current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
● Health: Up-to-date immunization records.
● Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, move quickly from sitting to standing (including floor to standing), and maintain high attentiveness in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
