Child Support Agent II ((phone hidden))
Description
The person in this position will provide designated services within the Child Support Enforcement Program to ensure that all non-custodial parents or legal guardians support their children to the extent each is financially able to do so. Work in this position includes establishing, enforcing and modifying child support orders by conducting interviews, explaining administrative and legal procedures to participants, and/or preparing cases for court hearings to include attending court, negotiating with participants and their attorney. Other responsibilities include report preparation and reconciliation, downloading, uploading, and printing documents using the eCourts site for all CSS actions as well as performing additional related duties as assigned to support the success of the Child Support Program.
Requirements
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a four degree from a college or university and six months experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledge,
skills and abilities needed to perform the work; OR an Associate’s degree in business administration, human resources, law enforcement, or closely related degree and two years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; OR graduation from high school and three years of experience eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work. Prefer applicants with solid verbal and written communication skills and personal computer knowledge and experience. Other requirements include possession of a driver’s license valid in the state of N.C.
Note: In accordance with State mandates and the Halifax County Emergency Operations Plan, Halifax County Social Services staff are required to staff emergency shelters during times of disaster. Please be advised that every staff person is eligible to be assigned to an emergency shelter or Emergency Operations Center.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position is $ 41,048 - $ 45,903.
Halifax
County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C.
