Clerk 2- Temporary Part-Time & Casual/On-Call The District of Squamish is seeking a customer-focused and highly organized Temporary Part-Time Clerk 2 to provide clerical, administrative, and customer service support for our Corporate Administration department. In addition, we are seeking additional Casual/On-Call support for our Corporate Administration Department to assist with the election planning and administration. About the Role:
Clerk 2’s at the District of Squamish are responsible for a broad range of administrative and clerical duties that support the efficient operation of District services. The successful candidates will serve as a key point of contact for internal and external customers, provide administrative support to departmental staff, maintain records, coordinate meetings, and assist with a variety of office functions.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide outstanding customer service in person, by phone, and through electronic communications.
- Respond to inquiries and direct customers to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Prepare and format correspondence, reports, minutes, agendas, and other documents.
- Perform data entry and maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
- Schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and prepare meeting materials.
- Conduct records searches and basic data collection activities.
What we’re looking for:
You are a customer-service-oriented professional with strong administrative skills and a keen attention to detail. You communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy office environment. Adaptable and resourceful, you quickly learn new systems and procedures and take pride in providing accurate, timely, and professional support. In addition, you have the following:
- 3 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant.
- Certificate in Business Administration and 2 years’ experience in an administrative capacity.
- Sound understanding of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and strong keyboarding skills (minimum 50 wpm).
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and other office software applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
