Position: Clubhouse/Course Serving Staff
JOB OVERVIEW
The Clubhouse/Course Server plays a crucial role in the food and beverage operation by providing exceptional service to golfers on the course. This position requires excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and a friendly, engaging personality. The operator is responsible for selling and serving beverages and snacks, ensuring a high-quality guest experience, and adhering to all safety and alcohol service regulations.
REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Sell and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to golfers around the course from a mobile service cart, and in the clubhouse.
- Provide outstanding customer service and assist golfers with their food and beverage needs.
- Operate the beverage cart safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Maintain product knowledge, including available menu items, specials, and golf course layout.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Manage and control inventory levels, ensuring the cart is fully stocked and products are presented in an appealing manner.
- Prioritize customer needs and listen effectively to ensure quality service.
- Address customer complaints professionally, resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Take ownership of customer problems and follow up to ensure resolution.
- Ensure all customers consuming alcoholic beverages are of legal drinking age by checking IDs for anyone appearing under 25 years old.
- Refuse service to customers who fail to provide valid identification or appear intoxicated,
and notify golf course management if necessary.
GOLF ETIQUETTE
- Adhere to proper golf etiquette while operating the beverage cart to avoid disrupting players.
- Minimize noise from the cart and inventory while in the immediate vicinity of a golfer preparing to hit.
- Keep radio and phone volume at a minimum, ensuring discretion when in proximity to golfers.
- Follow designated cart paths and avoid restricted areas, including greens, tee boxes, sand traps, and water hazards.
- Do not park or serve in golf shot landing areas or next to greens; meet customers at the next tee box instead.
- Follow the designated service route, driving against the flow of play and ensuring consistent availability to golfers.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have the ability to communicate in English.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to interact professionally with guests and maintain a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Must be willing to work as part of a team and assist co-workers when needed.
- Capable of handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of golf course etiquette and basic food and beverage service procedures.
- Ability to operate a beverage cart safely and responsibly.
- Must be able to work in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address customer concerns effectively.
- Ability to follow alcohol service laws and regulations, including verifying age and refusing service when necessary.

Providing an exceptional experience for golfers is a top priority. The Clubhouse/Course Server must be skilled, courteous, and attentive at all times, ensuring guests receive high-quality service that enhances their golfing experience.
Work Habits
Servers should maintain professionalism through proper attire, punctuality, and adherence to job responsibilities. They should be adaptable to changes, eager to learn new skills, and willing to take initiative when necessary.
Safety & Security:
Operators must comply with all safety policies, including responsible driving practices, handling food and beverages safely, and adhering to alcohol service regulations. Reporting safety hazards and following established procedures is essential.
NOTE
This is not exhaustive and may be adjusted at the discretion of the company. The position may require additional responsibilities as assigned by the Facility General Manager.
