Job Overview

Sirius Machine & Tool is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to join our night shift manufacturing team in Concord, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machinery, monitoring production, inspecting finished parts, making basic machine adjustments, and ensuring components are produced according to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

This is primarily a CNC machine operation position. Advanced CNC programming and complete machine setup experience are not required. We are looking for someone with hands-on CNC machining experience who can safely and independently operate equipment, identify issues, maintain part quality, and keep production running efficiently throughout the night shift.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate CNC milling and/or CNC lathe machines during production runs.
- Load and unload parts, materials, and tooling as required.
- Start, monitor, and safely operate CNC programs that have been prepared and set up for production.
- Monitor machine performance and production throughout the shift.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications.
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators.
- Perform basic tool changes, offset adjustments, and machine adjustments as required to maintain part quality.
- Identify dimensional, tooling, machine, or quality issues and report or escalate problems appropriately.
- Recognize worn or damaged tooling and replace tools as required.
- Complete required production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately.
- Monitor parts for defects, surface-finish issues, and dimensional variation.
- Follow established work instructions, quality procedures, and production processes.




- Maintain machines and surrounding work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Communicate production issues, machine concerns, and incomplete work clearly during shift handover.
- Work independently and maintain productivity during overnight operations.
- Follow all company health and safety requirements.

Required Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Experience operating CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to perform basic tool changes and machine/offset adjustments.
- Strong basic shop math skills, including decimals, fractions, measurements, and tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify machining or tooling issues.
- Ability to follow established programs, setup instructions, work instructions, and quality procedures.
- Ability to work safely and independently with limited supervision during the night shift.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, to understand technical instructions and safety requirements and communicate production or quality issues.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Must be available to work on-site in Concord, Ontario on the permanent night shift from 11:15 PM to 7:45 AM.

Preferred Qualifications




- Experience operating both CNC mills and CNC lathes.
- Experience with Fanuc controls.
- Experience making basic CNC program or offset adjustments.
- Familiarity with G-code.
- Experience with tight-tolerance machining.
- Familiarity with GD&T.;
- Experience using bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
- Previous experience in an ISO 9001 or other quality-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Experience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other alloys.
- Previous experience working independently on an afternoon or night shift.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely lift and handle parts, materials, and tooling as required.
- Ability to perform repetitive machine-loading and unloading tasks.
- Ability to safely work around CNC machinery, cutting fluids, tooling, and other manufacturing equipment.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for a dependable CNC operator who can keep machines running safely and consistently throughout the night shift.

The ideal candidate can follow an established setup and CNC program, load and unload parts, monitor the machining process, inspect finished components, make basic adjustments when required, recognize when something is wrong, and maintain consistent production and quality.

Advanced programming and full machine setup experience are an asset but are not required for this position.

Pay: $17.60-$22.00 per hour
