CNC MACHINING MANAGER
Location: Durham Region, Ontario
Salary: $95,000–$115,000 per year, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time Day shift, On-site THE OPPORTUNITY For more than four decades, this Canadian custom mould-making company has supported the automotive industry through specialized expertise, precision craftsmanship and longstanding customer relationships.
Its Durham Region machine shop brings together advanced 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining with experienced machinists, programmers, mould makers and finishers. The company is busy, resilient and positioned for continued growth. It is now creating a CNC Machining Manager position to provide dedicated leadership to this important part of its operation.
THE ROLE
This is a high-impact opportunity to take genuine ownership of the CNC department. You will lead its people, priorities and daily performance while helping shape how the department develops.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES People Leadership and Team Development

CNC Operations and Scheduling
Plan daily and weekly work | Assign people and machines | Manage changing priorities | Monitor work in progress | Maintain quality and delivery
Technical and Quality Leadership
Support 3-axis and 5-axis CNC operations | Clarify drawings and specifications | Resolve machining and workflow issues | Reinforce quality and craftsmanship
Department Building and Improvement
Strengthen shop structure | Improve workflow and machine utilization | Develop team capability | Support continued growth
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate with CAM programming, mould making, finishing and quality | Communicate priorities | Contribute operational insight to senior leadership
WHAT YOU BRING
- Experience leading people in a CNC machine shop, tooling, tool and die, mould-making or precision-machining environment.
- Practical knowledge of 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining.
- Experience coordinating people, machines, job schedules and changing priorities.
- The technical credibility to work effectively with machinists and programmers.
- A fair, engaged leadership style and genuine pride in developing people and producing quality work.
- Experience with aluminum machining, automotive tooling, mould making or CAM programming would be an asset.
