We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for setting up and operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, and also some manual machine tools.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in setting up and operating CNC machine tools, will be committed to producing quality parts, working efficiently, and maintaining a safe and organized work workplace. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced job shop environment.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience working with CNC milling machines and lathes
- Proficiency with Fanuc or Haas controls is required
- Ability to understand basic G-code and make simple edits to programs is required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings and work instructions
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment is required.
- Programming experience is and asset
- CAD / CAM experience is an asset
- Prior experience with overhead cranes is an asset
- Prior experience using bandsaw and drill press is an asset
- Prior experience using manual lathe and milling machine is an asset.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Set up and run CNC mills and lathes with Haas and Fanuc controls.
- Read and understand work instructions including technical drawings and sketches.
- Accurate measurement and inspection of work against drawings
- Being responsible for producing quality work
- Safe use of overhead cranes
- The ability to take direction as well as make decisions
- Ability to work safe and participate in our safety program
- Keep work area clean, organized and hazard free
Working Conditions:
- Physically able to lift up to 40lbs
- Always adhere to safety policies (and wear PPE as directed)
- Occasional overtime is required
