At MHB Financial, we are dedicated to helping businesses access the capital they need. To support our accounts receivable division, we are seeking a Collection Agent who can implement an organized and effective pre-collections approach.

As the Collection Agent, you will play a key role in maximizing returns while maintaining customer satisfaction, with a strong focus on customer retention. You will manage both early and late-stage accounts, working directly with customers to resolve outstanding balances on assigned accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Make outbound and receive inbound calls to assess and resolve early and late-stage accounts.
- Persuade customers toward payment while maintaining a positive customer relationship.
- De-escalate difficult situations and strive for one-call resolution.
- Communicate with leadership regarding unresolved or escalated accounts.
- Handle and process payments through text, email, phone, and other channels.
- Follow up consistently with customers to ensure payment plans are adhered to.




- Develop strong rapport with customers to support long-term payment plan adherence.

Requirements

- 3 years of collections experience, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience; subprime funding segment experience preferred.
- Proficiency with client maintenance software, collections software, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Understanding of fair credit practices and collection regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare documentation, update CRM systems, and maintain accurate customer records.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Call center experience is an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (preferred).

Pay: $25.00 per hour
