Job Overview The Community Engagement Lead supports SQUAD Inc. in building and maintaining positive relationships with community members, organizations, partners, donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

The position focuses on community outreach, relationship development, fundraising support, communications, volunteer engagement, and assistance with community programming and events. The Community Engagement Lead serves as a welcoming and consistent point of contact for community connections and helps increase awareness of SQUAD’s programs, services, activities, and initiatives.

This is a non-supervisory position. The Community Engagement Lead does not have independent decision-making, hiring, disciplinary, financial approval, or organizational governance authority. The position works collaboratively with the Program Coordinator, staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors to carry out approved activities and priorities of the strategic plan.

Qualifications

Required:

- Experience working with community members, organizations, volunteers, or stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Ability to represent SQUAD respectfully and professionally in the community.
- Basic computer and social media skills.

Considered an Asset:

- Experience in community engagement, outreach, nonprofit organizations, or community development.
- Experience with fundraising, sponsorship, donor relations, or grant development.
- Experience organizing community events or programming.
- Existing relationships with local community organizations, businesses, service providers, or other stakeholders.




- Experience recruiting and coordinating volunteers.
- Experience creating promotional or social media content.
- Knowledge of the communities and populations served by SQUAD.

Working Conditions The position may require:

- Attendance at community meetings, events, and activities outside regular office hours.
- Occasional evening or weekend work.
- Travel within the community and surrounding areas.
- Working in both office and community-based environments.
- Participation in public-facing activities on behalf of SQUAD.
