Denver Property Restoration Services Inc. is a property restoration company which provides restorative and construction services to residential homes and commercial buildings within Winnipeg and remote communities. We offer a wide range of services to remediate conditions caused by fire, flood, wind, sewer back up, mould and environmental hazards.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Foreman for our Northern Division to join our team. We pride ourselves on helping to restore a home or business to its pre-loss condition and strive to maintain a reputation for excellent work and customer service.
We are looking for a customer-focused, hardworking individual with a can-do attitude, and willingness to learn and grow. As a Construction Foreman in the Northern Division, knowledge, and experience in all aspects of construction are required. This position involves overseeing projects, documenting job progress, and keeping relationships within the communities where you are stationed.
We are seeking an individual with strong work ethic and willingness, and the ability to be out of town for up to 21 days at a time as a requirement of the position.
Responsibilities
Department Management
- Manages and oversees the crews and their activities.
- Ensures proper training and tools are provided in order for staff to complete project requirements.
- Mentor and leader to subordinates.
- Ensure that work by staff and contractors is completed satisfactorily and follow-up on any deficiencies.
Rebuild File Management:
- Identifies if job hazards are present.
- Completes material take off lists and arranges for delivery.
- Completes weekly file review with Rebuild Coordinator and Project Manager.
- Ensures Company, Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are being followed.
- Support and participate in continuous improvements in skills and training.
- Scheduling Carpenters daily & with tasks and timelines
- Manages assigned Rebuild projects to completion.
- Ensures project requirements are being fulfilled and deadlines and milestones are achieved.
- Provide onsite training to Restoration Construction Tradespersons as required.
- Responsible for assessment of all tradesmen capabilities.
- Responsible for the management of hired subtrades
- Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the project.
- Updates all parties involved relative to work progress (JSR), changes, additions to original repair specifications.
- Arranges a final walk through with insured and takes photos of completed project.
- Ensures lockboxes are picked up at end of claim.
- Resolve disputes and complaints, as needed.
- All additional work not listed but required as per project requirements.
- Work directly with Project Managers and assist on all delegated tasks, such as, quoting, site inspections etc.
- Additional duties as required.
Requirements:
- The role requires at least 3 years in construction management and employee supervision.
- Detailed understanding of construction practices for residential and commercial properties.
- Knowledge of building codes; electrical, or plumbing, or mechanical and related codes.
- Knowledge of the laws and ordinances regulating building construction.
- Must have a valid Manitoba drivers’ license and able to provide criminal background and child/adult abuse registry check.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer skills – MS office, Outlook, DASH, Encircle, Xactimate and Xactanalysis. Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence.
- Practical knowledge of protected operation of equipment and power tools.
- Positive & professional attitude.
