Hedman Construction Ltd. is an established local commercial contractor with steady, year-round work throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

We are currently looking for an experienced Construction Lead Hand / Foreman to join our team. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can work alongside our crews while helping coordinate day-to-day construction activities, maintain quality and safety standards, and keep projects moving efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

- 5+ years of commercial construction experience preferred
- Previous Lead Hand or Foreman experience is an asset
- Level 2 Carpenter or higher preferred
- Strong experience with steel stud framing, drywall, acoustic ceilings and general carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Solid layout and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate and direct a small crew
- Good understanding of construction sequencing and jobsite organization
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside construction crews on commercial projects
- Coordinate daily work activities and help ensure projects stay on schedule
- Read drawings,



specifications and layouts and communicate requirements to the crew
- Perform and oversee framing, drywall, acoustic ceiling and carpentry work
- Assist with layout and material planning
- Coordinate tasks with subcontractors and other trades as required
- Monitor workmanship and ensure work meets project specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe jobsite
- Identify and resolve day-to-day construction issues
- Communicate progress, issues and material requirements to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager
- Ensure company and site safety procedures are followed
- Assist with demolition, general construction and other duties as required
- Provide hands-on support to the crew and lead by example
