Reporting Relationship

Reports to: Director of Construction

Overall Purpose The Construction and Site Manager is the most senior on-site Owner’s Representative and holds day-to-day authority for managing all site activities during the construction phase of the project. The Construction and Site Manager is responsible for overall site coordination, supervision, and control within a Care and Maintenance operating context. This position is a fly in/fly out 2 week in and 2 week out. This position is eligible for a bonus structure.

The role is accountable for ensuring construction, water treatment, facility maintenance, underground (UG) mining, drilling and other site activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with government regulations, IBA agreements, contract requirements, schedules, budgets, environmental approvals, and Owner standards. The Construction Manager acts as the primary on-site interface between the Owner, contractors, engineers, regulators (as required), and other stakeholders.

Site Management and Care & Maintenance Oversight

· Act as the Owner’s senior on-site authority, overseeing all site activities during construction and ongoing facilities maintenance.

· Manage day-to-day site operations within the approved Facilities Maintenance, Exploration, and Development plans, ensuring activities remain within permitted and authorized scopes.

· Oversee site access control, contractor mobilization, inductions, and compliance with site rules and procedures.

· Ensure site infrastructure, services, and facilities required to support construction and water treatment activities are available, safe, and fit for purpose.

· Coordinate and prioritize site activities, with particular emphasis on construction execution and water treatment and environmental compliance obligations.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for site-related issues, incidents, and coordination matters.

Construction Execution

· Represent the Owner on site, overseeing contractor execution against approved construction plans, specifications, schedules, and contracts.

· Monitor contractor compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and performance requirements.

· Verify that construction activities align with approved drawings, technical requirements, and design intent.





· Coordinate daily construction activities to ensure efficient sequencing and minimal interference between contractors and site functions.

Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Compliance

· Drive a safety-focused culture across all site and construction work.

· Ensure contractors implement and comply with site-specific HSE plans, environmental management plans, and the Owner’s safety standards.

· Lead and participate in site safety meetings, toolbox talks, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.

· Ensure site activities comply with permits, environmental approvals, facilities maintenance requirements, and regulatory conditions.

· Oversee water treatment and environmental management activities on site, ensuring compliance.

· Escalate any safety, environmental, or regulatory non-compliance issues promptly to the Director of Construction.

Schedule and Progress Control

· Review and validate contractor schedules, look-ahead plans, and construction sequencing.

· Manage short- and medium-term construction schedules, including daily and weekly planning.

· Monitor daily progress, productivity, and milestone achievement.

· Identify emerging schedule risks, delays, or interface issues and implement or recommend mitigation measures.

· Coordinate site inspections and progress reviews with contractors and the Owner’s team.

Cost Control and Change Management

· Track construction progress and productivity relative to contract value, payment milestones, and approved budgets.

· Monitor site-driven cost risks and support cost tracking and forecasting activities.

· Support the evaluation of change orders, field instructions, and contractor claims from an Owner’s perspective.

· Identify potential cost impacts early and escalate issues with supporting information and recommendations.

· Prepare and issue regular site reports covering safety, environmental compliance, progress, issues, and risks.





· Provide timely verbal and written updates to the Director of Construction on site conditions, priorities, and emerging risks.

· Maintain accurate Owner-side site records, including daily reports, photographs, inspection records, and as-built information.

· Ensure site documentation supports final handover, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset records.

Quality Assurance and Turnover

· Verify that contractor quality control processes are implemented and effective.

· Witness inspections, testing, and system completion activities as required.

· Verify completion of work packages and support system turnover, punch list management, and readiness for commissioning.

· Ensure construction works and documentation meet Owner standards and support long-term asset integrity.

Contractor and Interface Management

· Act as the primary in office interface between the Owner and construction contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

· Manage contractor performance, including scope adherence, productivity, workforce conduct, and compliance with site rules.

· Coordinate interfaces between multiple contractors and site activities, including water treatment and Care and Maintenance functions.

· Resolve day-to-day site coordination issues and escalate unresolved matters as required.

Commissioning and Handover Support

· Manage pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system turnover activities.

· Coordinate closely with Operations and Maintenance representatives to support a safe and orderly transition from construction to operations.

· Assist with punch list resolution, completion certification, and final handover to Operations.

Experience and Qualification

· 15+ years of progressive experience managing multi-disciplined mineral-related construction projects.

· Proven ability to lead and motivate people to work safely and efficiently.

· Proven ability to create and maintain a positive, open work environment.

· Effectively manage change as the project transitions through many phases.

Pay: $250,000.00-$275,000.00 per year
