Skydeck Builders is seeking an experienced and dependable Construction Supervisor to oversee residential, multifamily, apartment and commercial construction projects throughout Edmonton.
The successful candidate will manage daily site operations, coordinate trades and suppliers, maintain project schedules, monitor construction quality and ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, permits and applicable building codes.Experience with Edmonton infill construction is a robust asset.
Duties
- Oversee daily construction activities across assigned projects
- Supervise subcontractors, trades, suppliers and site labourers
- Review architectural, structural and engineering drawings
- Coordinate project schedules, deliveries and trade sequencing
- Monitor workmanship, materials, costs and construction progress
- Conduct site inspections and maintain deficiency lists
- Coordinate City, consultant and engineering inspections
- Ensure compliance with permits, approved drawings and specifications
- Enforce Alberta OHS requirements and company safety policies
- Maintain clean, secure and organized construction sites
- Complete daily reports, progress updates and site documentation
- Identify and resolve construction conflicts, delays and deficiencies
- Support projects from site preparation through occupancy and turnove.
Experience
- Minimum Two years of construction supervision experience preferred
- Residential and multifamily construction experience required
- Apartment, commercial or Edmonton infill experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of wood-frame construction and building-envelope systems
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code and Edmonton inspection processes
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites, trades and deadlines
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- First Aid, CSTS and other relevant safety certifications are preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
