Job Overview
We have an immediate vacancy for an energetic and detail-oriented Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for driving lean transformation within the organization and the integration of the Kaizen Production System across all operations. Your proactive approach will help us maintain our reputation for cutting-edge product innovation and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
· Lead cross-functional teams in identifying, prioritizing and executing continuous improvement and problem solving projects.
· Improving manufacturing processes, productivity, throughput, quality and efficiency within the organization.
· Driving the reduction of waste (defects, downtime, scrap, rework, etc.) by identifying root causes, developing sustainable countermeasures, and monitoring long-term effectiveness.
· Conducting lean assessments by collecting, organizing and analyzing processes, production data, plant layouts and process-flows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
· Leading targeted improvement projects with measurable outcomes.
· Develop budgets and cost-benefit analysis on all CI projects and initiatives.
· Maintain and reporting of data on CI project progress and achievements.
· Leading the deployment of Lean Manufacturing tools/programs such as Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Standard Work, Kaizen events and Gemba walks to improve plant organization, cleanliness and material flow.
· Ensuring all continuous improvement actions resulting in process changes are fully documented and integrated into Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Identifying areas of improvement and providing detailed recommendations for process changes and procedural documentation necessities
· Conducting studies to optimize inventory levels and improving the utilization of equipment, materials, and resources.
· Conduct regular 5S audits and imparting training to reinforce 5S work practices.
· Audit processes to identify inefficiencies, implement solutions, and drive operational excellence across all production areas.
· Supporting technology transfer projects, current product introductions, new equipment and machine/tool improvements
· Guiding and supporting the implementation of management approved/recommended measures and initiatives.
· Coaching and mentoring all levels of the organization in CI tools, techniques, and mindset, developing a culture of problem-solving and continuous learning.
· Support training initiatives, including onboarding, job instruction, and skill development.
· Additional duties as required and directed by the Manager
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline)
· 3+ years of experience in a continuous improvement role in a manufacturing environment
· Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt or greenbelt certification is required
· Strong project management experience
· Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is an asset.
· Strong knowledge of process improvement and problem solving techniques including lean tools and 6 Sigma methodologies
· Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and implementing Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
· Strong leadership, coaching, and change-management skills.
· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify root causes and key input drivers of process deficiencies
· Proficient in constructing KPIs, presentations and communications tailored to diverse audience needs.
· Excellent in communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
· Proficiency with AutoCAD, flowcharting software, ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
· Hands-on person with a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, ready to spend most of the time on the production floor.
