About the role:

The Contract Procurement Specialist reports to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Distribution and is responsible for leading complex,
high value and strategic procurement activities, including managing the sourcing and contracting process for goods, services, capital equipment, construction and consulting services. The Contract
Procurement Specialist leads and facilitates formal procurement processes for goods, services and capital equipment while working with a diverse portfolio to maximize value and to foster positive working relationships with departments, clients and vendors. The Contract Procurement Specialist provides procurement expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders and supports and mentors the Procurement Specialist and other departmental staff in the management of procurement activities.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent work experience and post‑secondary education
- 5 years of progressive procurement and supply chain experience required, including demonstrated experience
leading formal competitive procurement processes
- Strong working knowledge of applicable Buy Ontario Act and Broader Public Sector procurement directives, trade
agreements and public procurement requirements
Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with computerized systems for purchasing, inventory management, distribution and control required
- Experience with online public tendering software (i.e. Biddingo, Bonfire, MERX, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications and software
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated high levels of initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage workload and adapt quickly to a fast‑paced,
dynamic work environment
- Demonstrated superior communication skills, oral and written
- Collaborative approach to problem solving with a solution driven focus
Assets:
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or other public procurement designation
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
Salary Range: $43.840 to 54.800 The Health Sciences Centre strives to ensure the safety and security of the patients, visitors, employees and assets financial and otherwise. All offers of employment to external candidates shall be conditional upon: a satisfactory
Criminal Records Check (CRC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions; and proof of full vaccinations approved by Health Canada to Occupational Health & Safety. Candidates will have demonstrated adherence to the Hospital's Code of Conduct. Regular attendance at work is imperative, therefore, all applicants will have to demonstrate a good attendance record to be considered for this position.
