Job Summary
We are seeking a Controls Technician with strong PLC programming skills to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, implementing, and troubleshooting PLC programs for industrial automation systems. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to design control solutions, program PLCs, robotics, motion controllers, and commission automated systems throughout North America.
Duties
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation applications using Allen-Bradley, Omron, Siemens, and other major platforms
- Design and implement control logic, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, and functional specifications to develop control systems
- Commission and debug automated systems at client facilities, including startup support and system optimization
- Perform software updates, backups, and version control for PLC and HMI programs
- Integrate PLCs with industrial networks including Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Profinet, etc
- Collaborate with electrical technicians, engineers, and project managers on automation projects
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Document programming changes and assist with the creation of operation manuals and maintenance documentation
- Provide technical support and training to clients and end users
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns promptly during field service visits.
Candidate Qualifications
- College diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field experience
- 3+ years of experience programming PLCs in an industrial automation environment
- Strong proficiency with Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) and Rockwell Software Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000
- Experience developing HMI applications using FactoryTalk View, WinCC, or similar platforms
- Understanding of control systems, robotics, and machine integration
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $36.00-$50.00 per hour
