About CFUV
CFUV is a non-profit, volunteer-driven campus/community radio station located on the traditional, unceded, territories of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples and operating from the Student Union Building on the University of Victoria campus. CFUV aims to provide valuable resources, support, and opportunities to UVic students and the diverse communities that exist in Victoria, BC.

CFUV’s operations are largely volunteer run, with more than 100 volunteers contributing to broadcasting, podcasting, audio production, engineering, promotion, and other activities. Reporting to the Station Manager, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordination, recruitment, training, and support of CFUV’s volunteer base. The role works closely with CFUV volunteers and staff to strengthen volunteer engagement, and promote opportunities within the station.
The Volunteer Coordinator promotes CFUV’s activities and volunteer opportunities on-campus and around the community through outreach initiatives, information sessions, and collaboration with campus and community groups. The role also helps coordinate CFUV’s participation in student engagement events, including UVic Campus Kickoff, Vikes Thunderfest, and other welcome activities. The position also helps plan and deliver CFUV’s annual week-long Funding Drive occurring in March by leading fundraising meetings, coordinating volunteer participation, and recognizing volunteers for their contribution to the campaign.
Success in this Role The successful candidate will foster a welcoming volunteer environment, support volunteer recruitment and retention, increase awareness of CFUV opportunities,
contribute to successful outreach initiatives, and help coordinate a successful annual Funding Drive.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers

- Coordinate CFUV’s Funding Drive Committee

- Train and supervise student & part time employees
- Coordinate CFUV’s Funding Drive Committee
- Write and distribute internal newsletters
- Other tasks as assigned by the Station Manager

Terms
Contract, Part-Time. 20 hours/week.
Rate: $20.00/hr + 4% Vacation Pay
Anticipated start date: September 7, 2026
